How to use ampersand or AND in MXML

MXML bindings will let you use && for logical and bitwise purposes, although you have to use entity references when declaring them. So instead of

<mx:Button enabled="{blurb && blorble}" label="Click me!"/>

Do

<mx:Button enabled="{blurb &amp;&amp; blorble}" label="Click me!"/>

...and similarly a single entity reference for a bitwise comparison.

Don’t forget that binding are a bit lazy
